Katy Hill And The Art Of Discovering A Limitless Life.

Katy Hill shared why the greatest transformation isn't about becoming somebody new, but reconnecting with who we were all along...
What an incredible emPOWER session it was, that we had on the 14th of October.
From a five-year-old determined to present 'Blue Peter' to a successful broadcaster who walked away from her established career to follow a new passion, Katy Hill joined Athene Parker at The emPOWER Breakfast to explore self-belief, the power of possibility and why rediscovery might be more valuable than reinvention.
On 14th of October, the former 'Blue Peter' presenter, broadcaster and now success and transformation coach joined Athene Parker at The emPOWER Breakfast, hosted at Framestore and Company 3 London, for a morning exploring ambition, fear, identity and the art of reconnecting with ourselves.
Katy's story is a remarkable example of what can happen when determination meets resourcefulness.
At just five years old, she decided she wanted to present 'Blue Peter'. At 19, she wrote to the programme and was advised to go away and gain some experience. Rather than wait for an opportunity, Katy set about creating the precise conditions she needed to make her ambition a reality.
Hospital television, local radio and a secretarial position within the BBC were all part of her carefully constructed plan. While working at BBC Radio Essex, she even pitched her own programme, Katy's Capers, designed around the adventurous challenges synonymous with 'Blue Peter'. Parachuting, abseiling and white-water rafting became opportunities to demonstrate her presenting abilities, with a photographer documenting her exploits to create a portfolio she could eventually put in front of the right people.
All this in an era before social media, personal branding and digital portfolios. It was, quite frankly, a masterclass in resourcefulness and some of the most expert hustling you could hope to hear.
What makes Katy's approach so interesting is her ability to embody the things she wants before they exist. Through visualisation, emotional connection and, most importantly, purposeful action, she demonstrates that manifestation isn't simply about wishing something into existence. It's about actively participating in making it happen.
But achieving the dream doesn't necessarily mean it remains the dream forever.
After a successful career spanning 'Blue Peter', 'Live & Kicking' and commercial radio, including being the first female DJ to host a Top 40 hit show, Katy reached a point where the life she had created no longer aligned with the person she was becoming.
On paper, she had everything we are conditioned to recognise as success. Yet something was missing. Her passion was no longer leading her.
So she made the decision to leave Heart Radio and explore what might come next.
Her journey led her to NLP and subsequently to the Co-Active coaching model at the Coaching Training Institute, where she first met emPOWER founder Athene Parker on the same course in 2017. Katy went on to establish Limitless with Katy Hill, helping others explore their potential, challenge limiting beliefs and reconnect with what genuinely makes them feel alive.
Perhaps that was one of the most interesting and dynamic distinctions to emerge from the morning.
Katy isn't interested in reinvention. She's interested in rediscovery. What if we began by recognising everything we already are?
One of the exercises Katy shared, 'My Name In Lights', invited guests to imagine writing an article celebrating somebody else's extraordinary life, but to fill it with their own achievements. Every challenge overcome, every ambition realised, every moment of courage, learning and growth. Then to sit with it. Read it. And acknowledge it.
For an industry that moves relentlessly from one pitch, production, campaign or deadline to the next, rarely pausing to celebrate what has already been accomplished, it was a particularly valuable exercise.
The conversation also explored our relationship with fear. Rather than waiting for fear to disappear before pursuing something new, Katy encouraged guests to recognise it as an energy that can be harnessed. Courage is something we develop through action, rather than a prerequisite for taking it.
Whether putting yourself forward for a promotion, pitching a new idea or contemplating an entirely different career path, the principle is the same. We don't have to feel fearless to begin.
For Athene, the conversation also represented something of a personal homecoming. Having trained alongside Katy in the Co-Active coaching model, which underpins her own approach to The emPOWER Breakfast, the event prompted a reconnection with her coaching practice and an opportunity to bring that work more visibly into the emPOWER offering.
It was a lovely example of the very thing Katy had spent the morning discussing. Sometimes the next chapter isn't about discovering something entirely new, but recognising the value of something that has been there all along.
The morning concluded with a beautiful clearing sound bath from Nicky Palamarczuk of House of Butterfly, accompanied by a guided visualisation from Athene, inviting guests to reconnect with their younger selves.
The version of us who believed anything was possible. Before conformity, expectation and the rules we accumulate along the way began clipping the wings that were always meant to help us fly.
