The emPOWER Breakfast is an event series created by founder and host Athene Parker, bringing leading voices from the advertising industry together to speak openly about triumph through challenge.
The conversations are honest, often unexpected, and rooted in lived experience. From menopause to mental health, divorce, bereavement and child loss, these are subjects not typically centred in traditional networking spaces. But this isn’t traditional networking.
This is networking with heart.
Through these gatherings, empathy grows in real time. People connect more deeply, conversations continue beyond the room, and small but meaningful shifts begin to happen…within teams, workplaces and the wider industry.
For many creatives working across production, post, film and media, the pace, pressure and uncertainty of the industry can make it difficult to stay connected to ourselves and to each other.
The emPOWER Breakfast exists to change that.
We are building a safe, supportive community where industry professionals can reconnect, share experiences and access tools that genuinely support their wellbeing. Not just at in-person events, but beyond them.
And now, that support lives as a ‘pick me up’ in your pocket.
We’ve got an APP!
(Yes ✨to be said in your best Maureen Lipman voice: “She’s got an ology.” That was GREAT copy was it not.. if showing our collective age!)
The emPOWER Breakfast app brings together our full interview series alongside a growing library of wellbeing resources. It’s designed to feel less like a platform and more like a retreat within your working life, something you can return to whenever you need grounding, perspective or simply a moment to pause.
Alongside the content, we’ve built a network of practitioners who truly understand the industry from psychotherapeutic counsellors and coaches to pranic energy therapists, nutritionists, yoga teachers, breathwork guides and sound healers. Some sessions are available live online, while others can be accessed on demand, offering support that fits around the realities of creative work.
Within the app, we’ve also created something a little different.
The emPOWER Shop is a space open to everyone who downloads the app, not just members, showcasing creative ventures from within our community. It celebrates those who have followed their instincts, whether through a career pivot, a side project, or a return to something they’ve always loved.
What connects every artist featured is courage and the decision to reconnect with creativity for the joy of it.

From the bold, pop-culture-led prints of Tiny Riot founded by Natalie Hill and Sarah Browell along with Andrew Cope - a collective blending advertising craft with playful irreverence, to the deeply personal, nature-inspired watercolours of Sarah Epsom, whose work grew from a journey of healing and recovery, each story reflects a different path back to creativity.

For Mana Catford, after more than two decades in advertising production, that path has taken the form of mindful, process-driven printmaking, work that draws on texture, colour and a lifelong connection to art.
These aren’t just products. They are expressions of lived experience, of reinvention, side hustle and choosing to follow what truly lights you up.
By supporting these artists, you’re also supporting a wider creative community, one that believes art isn’t just a career, but a way of living. Each artist also offers a special emPOWER discount through the app, extending that sense of generosity even further.
Inside the emPOWER Breakfast app, you’ll find content from the live event series and conversations that remind you you’re not alone, alongside tools designed to support your nervous system through stress, overwhelm and burnout. There are practices you can return to daily, and bite-sized moments of support available whenever you need them.
Whether you’re between projects, deep in production, navigating a career pivot or simply looking for a space where people understand the journey, The emPOWER Breakfast is here.
Because when creatives feel supported, the whole industry becomes healthier, kinder and more sustainable.
You will need to download the app to book tickets and is available through Apple and Googleplay.
