When Creativity Meets Courage: An Inspiring Morning with Rani Patel at the latest emPOWER Breakfast

Last week, not even the tube strikes or the rain could keep us away from gathering for a very special edition of The emPOWER Breakfast. We were thrilled to welcome Rani Patel, newly appointed Brand & Business Partner at adam&eveDDB, for a morning that was as energising as it was inspiring.

Over 18 years in the industry, Rani has been at the heart of campaigns that have sparked cultural conversations, from Adidas London to CoppaFeel!, Dr. Martens, and PG Tips, giving fresh energy to brands. Hearing her speak about co-founding Calling, and the courage it takes to listen to your inner voice, allowing emotion to move through you, and living in flow, we discussed how creativity is a spiritual act, one that we engage in daily, and what it is to amplify others' experience and voice. It was both inspiring and galvanising.

Rani spoke about the lessons she has learned along the way: that creativity is at its best when it is grounded in authenticity, that success is not just measured in awards or metrics but in the real-world impact your work can have, and that leadership rooted in empathy is not a soft skill, it can in fact drive stronger teams, better ideas and more meaningful impact.

Our conversation also explored the role of values in shaping the cultures we build at work. Rani spoke candidly about the challenges of navigating a fast-changing industry while staying rooted in your principles.

The room was full of generosity and connection. People spoke openly about their own experiences of leading through change, of holding space for others, and of the courage it takes to do things differently. It was proof once again of what happens when we come together in a community that celebrates honesty, vulnerability and ambition in equal measure.
